PF youths in Kabwe working jointly with Central province minister Davis Chisopa are harassing civil servants and threatening them with dismissals following Chisopa’s orders for some of them to shift to districts which were haphazardly created by late President Michael Sata.
Chisopa who recently unlawfully allocated Mukobeko grave yard land to PF cadres ordered civil servants posted to Ngabwe and Luano districts to take shift to the districts and take up positions. Chisopa has formed a task force headed by PF district youth chairman Clement Kalifungwa to trace the names of the appointees who have not relocated and forcibly force them to shift. Kalifungwa has since demanded that the civil servants immediately shift or resign.
But sources from the civil servants and allied workers union (CSAWU) have threatened to boycott work and paralyse government departments if PF continues to interfere in administrative matters. They have said that they are employed by the government of Zambia and not the PF and that they cannot relocate until infrastructure is built in those districts.
Luano and Ngabwe, the new districts in Central province are not connected to the national grid and does not have phone network. The Luano district commissioner operates from a tent, though in actuality there is no work being done there while Ngabwe has literally no infrastructure.
