While the country’s elected representatives are busy increasing their already ‘fat’ salaries, at Kisasa basic school in Solwezi district near Kalumbila mine, five pupils share one desk during lessons. 150 of them are squeezed in one classroom because the facilities are inadequate.
We just wonder how happy these innocent souls would be, and how much benefits they could derive if just two per cent of some people’s huge salaries were given to their school.
How much is one desk? How many can you buy from K580 000 if some selfish, greedy politician can forego his salary just for one month especially that he already has free food, accommodation and everything else?
But then, parliament wouldn’t allow him right?
