Pius Kasolo is South African

Some professionals that lived abroad renounced their citizenship and assumed foreign nationality.

This appears to be the case of a Zambian national and mining expert Dr. Pius Kasolo who assumed South African citizenhip in the 90s.

To this effect OPERATION Young Vote (OYV) has asked the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines-Investment Holdings(ZCCM-IH) Board to review the appointment of its chief executive officer Dr Pius Kasolo over his alleged South African nationality.

OYV wants to leave his post to allow for independent investigations and to give Kasolo time to normalize his citizenship or reclaim it now that the country’s constitution allows dual citizenship.

But Dr Kasolo says this is an old issue that is only meant to bring him down.

On October 5, 2017, the Operation Young Vote (OYV) wrote Minister of Home Affairs in a letter referenced “Proof of Dr Pius Kasolo’s South African citizenship”.

But see this also 👇🏾
First Quantam Minerals, the owners of Kantanshi and Sentinel (Kalumbila) externalised $1.4billion in 2007.

ZCCM-IH owns 20% and this was done without their authority.

Mediation attempts to recover the money failed so Kasolo took FQM to court and also sued the powerful directors in person.

Kasolo took similar action against Vedanta who have since paid $100million

Regardless of his nationality Dr Kasolo by virtual of his birth he is a zambian, so long as zambian blood runs in his veins, he will remain zambian. The problem with us Zambians we are eager to bring down our own brothers and sisters. So that people like Kasolo pave way for our corrupt activities. All what is needed is the support from the offices above him. Zambia has lost a lot. It is the time we stood up just as Kasolo is doing.

I don’t give a damn whether one is South African or Zambian, because we have the same national anthem and all Lozis and Ngonis are basically South African. Further , King Lewanika, Aka’s grand father, was the founder president of the ANC of South Africa and Mandela even named his son after Lewanika. So Kasolo is a Southern African, fully Zambian and South African, klah!

Come on guys, Zambia does recognise dual nationality unless this issue has a matter of personal motives from the originator. How many times have we called on our expert citizens abroad to come back hone and invest that knowledge they have acquired for the benefit of Zambians in Zambia
