On orders from outgoing President Edgar Lungu, police in the early hours of this morning forced there way into the UPND Mass Mobilisation office near Zesco headquarters in Rhodes Park area. This is the office that houses some planning meetings and campaign strategy as well as UPND campaign materials such as chitenges and other regalia.
They broke the doors, took all the UPND files and vehicles that were found there and about 10 personnel manning and operating from the premises have all been taken to unknown locations.
Lungu has not been vigorously campaigning perhaps he wants documents on how to mount a vigorous campaign plus other strategies. But more importantly, the police and OP forced their way and could be planning to plant information with a view to incriminate UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and have him arrested.
Lungu is fast learning all the dictatorship tendencies from Robert Mugabe and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda. Infact he’s due for Uganda this month for a refresher course. Currently some Ugandan nationals are at State House doing voter clean up exercise that will see a lot of people from UPND strongholds be removed from the register of be transferred to far polling stations.
