Police command apologises to PF

“We are very sorry”, says Esther Katongo.

Zambia Police Service has apologized to the Ruling Patriotic Front for assaulting unruly carders. In a letter dated 15th February 2019 addressed to the PF Secretary General Davis Mwila, Police Spokesperson Esther Katonga said it was unfortunate that the officers assigned to control carders in Sesheke, brutalized the same people they were sent to protect. Ms Katongo has since promised the PF SG that the Service has identified the police officers who took part in the brutal beating of PF carders and promised that they will soon be dismissed from the service. “Just as the Inspector General of Police said, we shall dismiss all officers who were involved in the brutal beating of your supporters. So far we have identified 18 and you will be informed on the progress”, read part of the letter.
