Zambia Police Service has established a Board of Inquiry whose sole purpose is to look into the recent shooting incident in which a Police Officer of Kabwe’s Protective Unit identified as Constable Stephen Mwila shot his neighbours wife Grace Kalyati in the stomach and later turned the gun on himself dying on the spot.
Police Public Relation Officer Ms. Elizabeth Kanjela confirmed the development to Mwebantu New Media
“Police has constituted a board of inquiry to determine the factual circumstances surrounding the shooting. The board will among others make inquiries to establish the actual breaches regarding regulations on handling and use of firearms by Police Officers as stipulated in the Police Standing Orders manual book.” Ms. Kanjela said.
Early this month, Stephen Mwila, a Kabwe based police officer killed himself after wounding his neighbours wife. The police officer is said to have extended six bullets using a police service AK 47 rifle.
