New Police boss pledges to curb corruption

Zambia Police (ZP) Inspector General (IG) Martin Malama says he will work with all police in the country to ensure they sweep out corruption.

Speaking to the media in Lusaka, Malama said there is need to identify the grassroots of corruption if the vice is to be fought.

He noted that corruption is a cancer that has posed a great challenge to the Zambia’s development and must be curbed at all costs.

Malama pledged to ensure the police service is professional and responsive to the needs of the citizens whom they serve.

He further said ZP under his leadership will make sure it wipes out corruption and crime completely so as to foster national development.
