Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba and his Permanent Secretary Joseph Akafumba have instructed Police to arrest Lusaka Lawyer Nellie Mutti on Thursday, March 6, 2014 on tramped up charges.

Police sources disclosed that Kabimba gave the instructions to have Mutti arrested two weeks ago but the Police ignored the orders until Wednesday March 5, 2014 when Akafumba also instructed the police to arrest Mutti. “We have been instructed to arrest Madam Nellie Mutti. It is very painful to implement such orders when you know someone is innocent” the source said.

Sourcers said Mrs. Mutti has since been summoned to appear at Woodlands Police Station at 1430 on Thursday 06/03/14. The source said Mrs. Mutti is likely to be charged with theft of K35 million (K35 billion).
One source said even Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Rowland Msiska is aware of the scheme. It is believed that Kabimba and Akafumba want to intimidate Mrs. Mutti to withdraw a legal suit in which she has sued the Zambian government for diverting money meant for retired civil servants she represented in court from her law firm to that of Kabimba’s lawyer Rabson Malipenga. Kabimba and Akafumba have been using a known criminal Siachoke Simezeza to get 15 percent from each retirees’ money.

“The Inspector General of police has no independent mind. Surely how can she be used to fix an innocent woman like that. We have investigated the case for close to two months now and there is nothing” the source said.
