Police investigate GBM

Police in Lusaka have instituted investigations into allegations that Kasama Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba allegedly threatened violence against his sister in-law Doreen Sefuke.

Doreen Sefuke who is married to Mr. Mwamba’s younger brother, reported the parliamentarian to Emmasdale police station on Wednesday.

Police Spokesperson, Ndandula Siamana says a file has been opened for investigations in the matter.

Ms Siamana however says police can not follow up on the matter on the 11 point 5 million Kwacha debt owed by Mr. Mwamba’s company because it is a civil case.

Ms Siamana was speaking in a telephone with ZNBC News in Lusaka on Thursday.

Kasama Central Patriotic Front Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba was reported to police on Wednesday by his sister-in-law, for allegedly threatening violence.

The Lusaka Magistrates Court recently discontinued a case of wife battery against Mr. Mwamba after he reconciled with his wife.

Mr Mwamba had been charged with battering his wife Chama.
