Police pick up GBM

Police in Kasama have picked area MP Geoffrey Mwamba just after he addressed a rally with Hakainde Hichilema. The police are trying to accuse and blame GBM for the violence that occurred in Kasama on Thursday. GBM was by 22 hours local time at the police station. Watchdog contacts say tension is mounting in the town and violence may break out due to police bias.
On Thursday, some unknown people attacked PF supporters in Misambo area of Kasama.
The incident which occurred around 17:00Hrs is said to have happened in the presence of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba who is supporting UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema in next week’s election.
The attackers, probably thieves from Congo, are said to have stormed PF Kasama district treasurer Christopher Mukuka’s residence and beat up people who were found in the house and wearing PF regalia.
But when contacted, Kasama Central lawmaker Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba denied being at the scene of the incident and urged complainants to report the matter to police.
