Police record warn and caution statement from Kalaba as media is blocked from covering

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba was this morning summoned by police for questioning at the Copperbelt division police headquarters in Ndola and a warn and caution statement was recorded from him for allegedly addressing ‘illegal’ meetings on the Copperbelt.
Kalaba arrived at the police at 10:05 hours and only emerged out after 12 hours and told his sympathisers that there was nothing wrong for him to interact with his supporters and pledged to continue doing so.
And overzealous police officers harassed members of the press who turned up to cover Kalaba and threatened to arrest any journalists within and outside the police premises.
Copperbelt Deputy Commissioner of Police Wamunyima Wamunyima personally chased all journalists and ordered his officers to arrest all reporters who were waiting outside the division headquarters.
