Police reportedly surround GBM’s house to arrest him

There are reports that ailing dictator president Michael Charles Chilufya Mwango Katongo Sata has directed police to pick-up and arrest former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba and arrest him for assault.

Police, working like robots, have since surrounded GBM’s Kabulonga residence early this morning over the simple case of assault as it was reported in The Post newspaper yesterday.

GBM’s case for assault, which was scheduled to come yesterday, failed to take off due to non-availability of lawyers Makedi Zulu who was busy in court representing former president, Rupiah Banda.

However close sources have revealed that police on instructions from Mr. Sata are set to effect an arrest on GBM from his Kabulonga residence in the early hour of Saturday 24th May 2014.

It is alleged that on unknown dates Mr. Mwamba is said to have assaulted one, Collins Mudayi, a former employee of Arizona marketing and distributors which is Mr. Mwamba’s company.

If GBM is picked-up and arrested this morning, it means he will spend the whole long weekend in Police cells.

And in a twist of events, management at Arizona and Mr. Mwamba reported a case of theft and fraud in which Mr. Mudayis is alleged to have forged Mr. Mwamba’s signature to obtain fuel worth K920,000 Kwacha.

Mr. Mwamba was a former strong ally of President Sata but fell out of favor after resigning as Defence Minister over differences in the appointment of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.

GBM insists Mr. Sosala is the right person to take-over as Chitimukulu while president Michael Charlie Kays Chilufya Mwango Katongo Sata does not recognize him as he wants to install a fellow Bisa to the throne.
