Police says terrorists have escaped from Chingola jail

Police on the Copperbelt claim the ‘terrorists’ who were arrested for bombing Zesco pylons have escaped from police custody in Chingola.

Despite the state of emergency, the suspect managed to escape from Nchanga police station.

Copperbelt commissioner of police Charity Katanga named the escapees as Moses Chola and Charles Kalenga who are both facing charges of assault as well as Oscar Chisulo and Dennis Mumba who are charged with vandalising property.
“The suspects escaped from the Nchanga police station cells between 21:00 hours and 22:00 hours on July 24, 2017. Police have since instituted investigations into the matter,” she said.
