Police invade Muvi TV for featuring Pilato

Muvi TV has become the latest media house to face police intimidation following the station’s featuring on of musician Chama Fumba alias Pilato on ‘the assignment’ live TV programme yesterday.

Police under the instruction of President Edgar Lungu are in search of Pilato’s blood and last week summoned two DJs from another privately owned Komboni radio station. The two DJ’s were simply sampling the popularity of the song Alungu anabwela kuchoka ku Chawama.

After Pilato featured, plain clothed police and intelligence officers in seven vehicles stormed the station demanding to arrest the satirist musician but station manager Mabvuto Phiri told them that the musician had since left the station. The heavily armed officers surrounded the TV station waiting for the musician who was never to be seen. The Watchdog is in touch with Pilato and will keep you informed on all the developments.
