The Zambia police have summoned former State House press aide Richard Sakala in connection with a newspaper called the Daily Nation.
The police left a call-out for Sakala and other persons believed to be working with him in running the tabloid. The call-outs were left at the offices of the Daily Nation Friday morning.
It is not yet clear which story the police are particularly interested in but on Thursday they questioned Watchdog journalist George Zulu on the relationship between the Watchdog and the Daily Nation.
The police asked George to explain how stories published on the Watchdog website are re-produced in the Daily Nation bearing George Zulu’s name.
The police questioned Zulu if he was a shareholder or director of a newspaper called the Daily
Nation. The police wanted to find out whether the Watchdog and the Daily Nations belonged to one person.
The Daily Nation is a new tabloid that specializes in plagiarizing (stealing) news articles from the Watchdog and printing them.
