Alert Kabwe police officers today blocked PF thugs’ plan to beat and embarassingly eject Central province permanent secretary Edwidge Mutale from her office, accusing her of frustrating their efforts to politicise the government.

Having picked the plan earlier, police in riot gear quickly sealed off the provincial administration offices in readiness for a showdown with the thugs but after the thugs realised that they had little political support, decided to postpone their evil plan to sometime next week while Mutale’s whereabouts remain unknown as she was advised not to report for work. He official residence has also been sealed off, in what appears to be an act of being fed up with PF thugs’ hooliganism.

The thugs have been mobilised by provincial minister Davies Chisopa and Kabwe district commissioner Patrick Chishala among other top civil servants who are scheming Mutale’s removal. Apparently Mutale who is the only female provincial PS has drawn a line between partisan politics and the running of the civil service but Chisopa wants a weak PS who he will easily manipulate.

The duo were recently summoned to State house where President Lungu asked them to reconcile but Chisopa who is reported to have a mild mental illness that recurs when he drinks beer has vowed to continue frustrating Mutale who has a backing of other civil servants under her. She is also the longest serving provincial PS under PF.
