Police are currently trying to re-arrest (UPND) vice president for administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.
Mwamba popularly known as GBM was arrested accused of teying to raise an army but released on a K50 000 police bond and two working sureties.
By 20: 30 local time, police had surrounded GBM’s house in Lusaka.
On Wednesday, GBM was briefly detained at Lusaka”s woodlands police station where the police savagely beat up supporters who went to show him solidarity.
Police spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has said that GBM is being re-arrested for allegedly violating his police bond conditions and will face another charge of actions likely to disturb peace in the country.
Ms Chanda said she could not give details but will address the nation when Mr Mwamba is in police custody.
