THE Government Joint Investigations Team has warned and cautioned former MMD Lusaka Province chairperson William Banda for being in possession of suspected stolen property.
Public relations officer (PRO) for the Government Joint Investigations Team Namukolo Kasumpa said in a statement yesterday that Mr Banda had been cautioned for being in possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime contrary.
Mr Banda was warned and cautioned in connection with the five motor vehicles that were seized from him recently namely a Toyota Cresta Saloon registration Number ABX 1408, Toyota Harrier ALB 3619, Toyota Hilux Surf ABL 9009.
Others are two Toyota Prados, ABZ 1661 green in colour and ABR 9874 silver in colour.
Ms Kasumpa said Mr Banda was also warned and cautioned over the K100,800,000 which was found in his possession. She said the properties are all suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr Banda is being represented by Rabson MalIpenga of Rabson Malipenga and Company.
He recently resigned from the MMD to join the United Party for National Development.
