In spite of being married to more than one wife, education minister Michael Kaingu does not appreciate culture and the Alangizi Association of Zambia have offered that he meets with them so that they explain in detail.
Alangizi Executive director Iris Phiri said that she was disappointed that Kaingu accused her of encouraging what he calls seductive cultural dancers because she wants to marry off the girls. Kaingu, whose daughter, Iris was convicted of producing a pornographic video where she was having sexual intercourse with a male recently proposed the ban of cultural dances in schools.
His statement reacted sharp reaction from women organisations who feel culture must be preserved. NGOCC board chairperson Sarah Longwe said Kaingu had a pornographic mind, a civil servant at the curriculum development centre said Kaingu must not think all females are as wild as his daughter.
“So please, please napapata if he (Kaingu) is troubled with my comments let him meet me in person so that I explain cultural matters in detail Kapena bamvela chileya tikakambila mu newspaper,” Phiri said.
