Poor economy due to lack of capacity, Lungu to continue being booed-Mulongoti

People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti has wondered why Information and Broadcasting Minister Chishimba Kambwili is disputing that President Lungu was booed and insulted at Heroes Stadium.

And Mulongoti has charged that the economic situation in the country was evidence of lack of capacity in the leadership.

Mulongoti said Friday that he witnessed a similar situation recently when President Lungu was allegedly booed after commissioning the Dangote Cement plant in Ndola.

Mulongoti has warned that such incidences will continue as long as President Lungu does not find time to interact with the Zambian people.

‘In Ndola people expected him to greet them but he just drove out and people reacted,’ said Mulongoti.

He said President Lungu should be adressing press confrences so that Zambians can know what he thinks on national issues.

And Mulongoti has charged that the economic situation in the country was evidence of lack of capacity in the leadership.

He said no one was telling President Lungu to go away but the results that were coming out in the economy were pointing to the fact that there is lack of capacity resulting in failure to perform.

He said if Zambians continue with the PF’s failure then the country will collapse and warned that it will take more than 20 years to repair the damage that the PF government has caused to the economy.

Mulongoti charged that there are many Zambians suffering in Zambia but President Lungu prefers visiting other countries.

He claimed that President Lungu has appointed people who can’t defend him and as result when the opposition criticise him he thinks they hate him.

‘He has appointed people who can’t defend him so we are having a field day, let him identify people with the capacity to help him,’ Mulongoti advised.

He disclosed that an appointment had been made to see President Lungu but he denied them an opportunity to meet him on account that they were criticising him.

Mulongoti said planning and consultation were critical but President Lungu just announces creation of districts without planning and increases the floor price of maize at the airport without consulting the Minister of Finance.

‘ He comes from wherever he went and increases the floor price of maize from K70 to K75 at the airport without consulting the Minister of Finance, this is what HH meant when he said Chimbwi no plan,’ said Mulongoti.
