Poorly constructed arcades to compensate tenants

Arcades Management says it is working on ways to compensate tenants whose goods were damaged following a heavy down pour that flooded the shopping mall on Tuesday evening.

Arcades Centre Manager, Patrick Nsama, says an insurance firm has been engaged to assess the damage.

Mr. Nsama told ZNBC news that Arcades regrets the flooding and that it will meet with stakeholders to see how best they can address the poor drainage system at the shopping Mall.

Most shops at Arcades, one of Lusaka’s leading shopping malls, were flooded on Tuesday evening following a heavy down pour.

Goods worth millions of Kwacha were destroyed in the process.

The heavy downpour also left some people homeless in kabwata Site and Service.
