MMD Vice President for Political Affairs Michael Kaingu and MMD Presidential Affairs Spokesperson Muhabi Lungu disclosed in separate interviews that the Post Newspapers is misleading the nation.
Dr. Kaingu and Mr. Lungu said on several times the Post has asked them to give their opinion on the proposed re-introduction of Indeco only to see editorials attacking the MMD.
These people through their reporters call us to give views then they do not write the story next we read is attacking MMD. I think this is very unethical” they said.
And Dr. Kaingu said INDECO can only work if government embarked on nationalisation policies because the economic idea was tried and it failed.
“Even in the far East where we borrowed this idea. They have failed. Russia is now dismantling state companies. Even Chairman Mao of China and Gorbachev of Russia would laugh at them” Dr.Kaingu said.
“We tried this in the sixties, seventies and later on it failed. It can only operate under a state command economy. Are they going to nationalise some companies” he asked.
And Muhabi Lungu who has challenged the PF government for a live debate on the issue advised those advocating for the idea to ask Andrew Sardanis the first Managing Director of INDECO how the idea failed.
“Ask Sardanis. These people want to take us to the era of two weeks import cover and so on. Their reporters call me and I give them my view next it is an editorial attacking the party. this is very unethical” he lamented.
