Post says Fr. Bwalya eyeing presidency, PF accuse him of demanding executive Zesco position

Some PF senior members have now accused outspoken catholic cleric Fr. Frank Bwalya of having resigned from the Zesco board which he was chairing because he demanded for an executive position.

And the Post newspaper that supports their own Wynter Kabimba to take over from ailing president Michael Sata have today accused Fr. Bwalya of eyeing the Zambian presidency in 2016.

Sources within the PF who are uncomfortable with an uncompromising stance of criticising the corrupt PF administration have told the Watchdog that Fr. Bwalya wanted a near permanent executive Chairmanship position of the state owned entity Zesco so that he can earn more.

Fr. Bwalya a fierce campaigner for PF in the run-up to 2011 elections recently shook the nation when he resigned and later attacked the PF administration and president Sata for poor governance.

And the Post newspaper who are sponsoring Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba accused Fr. Bwalya of positioning himself to run for Republican presidency in 2016 because he feels he can make a better president than Sata.

The paper accused Fr. Bwalya of having been confiding in some members of the civil society and other leaders, telling them about his ambition and desire to be president.

The paper claims Fr. Bwalya wants to form his own political platform to help him get the presidency because he thinks he can be a better leader than Kabimba and Sata.

According to the Post newspaper, Fr. Bwalya had been telling people about the third force that is coming before 2016.

The Zambian Constitution stipulates who can and who can not run for presidency…why shouldn’t Bwalya have ambitions? PF mentality…always feeling threatened; even by their own shadows.

Fr Frank BWALYA is a person carrying an innocent soul. He CANNOT mix with Satanists especially where the blood of humans is concerned. The cartel – the popular cartel, who do meetings even behind some idle ministers, who transact businesses under water cannot be yoked together with clean politicians who only kill chickens.

Focus,honesty,integrity,selflessness,direction,definition,solution-oriented.These are some of the aspects of a good leader.Anyone can be a leader, but it takes re-conditioning of of mind-set and heart to be a good one.

When you say and act as passionate as FR B portrayed in his support for PF;it should be something you stand with for life!”kufwa nano”.But its ironic that he is now passionately against the same thing he supported.

If he were to lead;he would abandon ship whenever he didnt like something personally? It seems there are personal grievances here and not national interest issues……….

Everyone wants to lead;but have no clue how.And when advised;not willing to listen…..

      Lets seriously be serious…………..seriously…

Fr. Bwalya’s timing is wrong. We can not have a Catholic President and replace him with another Catholic. Are their no other people in the country. In 2011 the people voted for a catholic to be president and governance in the country deteriorated. I think we need an SDA president this time around. A catholic father may make things worse.

Now its Catholic or SDA? are you thinking big bwana? its personalities and not religious affiliation that matters here. What has the Catholic Church as a Religion got to do with you funny-funny things of politics. Do not just bring the name of a religion simply because some few of its members. The Catholic is more than Sata and your Fr. Bwalya. you are the people who bring funny divisions in the Country. Give us a break men!!!!!!!!!!!

Corruption is now worse off than in the MMD regime.
This is why the father has left the boat.
President SATA created districts in order to take development closer to the people but the cadres are busy grabing traditional land with impunity.
In Lusaka province,Kafue, chongwe and Rufunsa districts are now up for grabs. These cadres led by DCs are responsible. In Rufunsa for example, the council is just grabbing traditional land without consultation with the locals.

My advice to SOLI chiefs is that if you are not careful, you will have no chiefdom in future and let alone no land to administer. Get an example from Chief Mwata Kazembe- He has given land to the goverment at least 30 Km away from his palace. That is strategic thinking.

Zambia’s problems are economical largely, CAN FRANK BWALYA PROVIDE LEADERSHIP IN THIS AREA? Historically Mwanawasa, because of the discipline the legal profession demands, proved to be a good president. Similarly I personally think because of the economic management training & qualification, Rupiah Banda did well otherwise he’d not have built on the gains and reserves his predecessor left, although I hope for his own sake he is innocent of the charges he’s accused of.. What this country needs is an economic manager of good and exceptional repute. I do not see Frank fitting this mould. ZAMBIANS, IT IS THEFT FOR SOMEONE TO ASPIRE FOR OFFICE FOR WHICH ONE IS ILL QUALIFIED. Why is the young man Masumba in court for obtaining pecuniary advantage of what his own training institution claims is an improperly obtained accounting qualification? We ourselves have cheapened the esteem of the highest public office in the land by allowing all and sundry to aspire to it. Late Edward Shamwana had at some point in the 90s recommended that the minimum qualification for a councillor be form v/grade 12 but this country did not take heed. Are we surprised how the councils are being poorly run today? So what requisite training and qualification does Frank have to aspire to the highest public office in the land in the light of the economic mismanagement of zambia? Is he going to use God’s name in vain taking into account his priestly background? Was he not party to the campaigns that have us in our present circumstance? In fact in the muvi tv interview he implicated the catholic church as having taken a biased stance in the campaigns leading to the last elections. “THOSE WHO FORGET HISTORY ARE DESTINED TO REPEAT IT!” why do you think job applicants need reputable references to acquire descent jobs. Will the Catholic Church give Frank Bwalya the reference to back his presidential bid if he’s truly vying for 2016?

  • comment-avatar

Father Frank Bwalya go for it.Tell the nation what you know about PF’s failures, starting with the 90 days fake promises, Sata’s sickness, corruption, tribalism and nepotism being practiced by the Perpetual Failures (PF), Sata(nism) being practiced by the PF,etc. In fact don’t forget M’membe’s homosexual life, and his evil plan to usher Winter Maize in State House as Republican President.

I have a lot of confidence in this man. He is straight and to the point. Fr. Bwalya, you can see for yourself, from the many comments in your favour, that you’re held in high esteem.
I’m yet to be directed to the verse in the bible which prohibits active christians from participating in active politics. And i’m yet to be convinced that our system of rulership today is not the equivalent of ancient biblical types where one man directed the affairs of a nation.
Some will uselessly argue that David and many other legendary men of the bible were directly appointed by God and that they spoke with God. But who says God can’t do that today with his children in political leadership positions.
