Praying for Chipolopolo and using flag of Israel?

Dear Editor,

Listening to Friday evening Muvi TV news, I heard that people have gathered at some church in Ndola praying for the National team to win tomorrow. One thing which caught my attention was “they have raised the flag of Israel at the prayer venue because the Bible says “those who speak well of Israel shall receive favour” I have no problem with the prayers but my concern is the ignorance we continue exhibiting. In the bible there are things which were temporal and there are others which were eternal once they were declared.

I am a soccer fan and I like the Chipolopolo but my question is do people in this country declared a Christian nation take time to understand the Bible? Israel was chosen by God in the olden days to proclaim his word to the world. They were a chosen nation, a royal priesthood, a special people etc. Israel ceased to be a special people because they failed to  live according to God’s guidlines. In the time of Jesus the Pharisees (people of the law” also put themselves as special people while the gentiles were inferior.Jesus cancelled this. Today Christians are the spiritual Israel. Israel as a country, Jews as a tribe do no longer have any special privileges. Whoever believes in God and accepts Christ as their personal saviour are the spiritual Israel. Unfortunately Jews and still think they will automatically enter heaven by virtue of their tribe.  Galatians 3:28-29, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Now to those people praying for the chipolopolo, yes go ahead, pray but try to understand the things you involve yourself in. Sometimes God will instead of answering our prayers in the positive will do in the negative. Zambians are now happy for the declaration. They think God is worshiped by declaration. No one will enter heaven simply by the declaration but “whoever does the will of my father is my brother/sister”

Which church does Pastor Makembo go to? Does he preach or he has just remained with the title? PLEASE THAT ISRAELI FLAG HAS NO MEANING..IT JUST SHOWS HOW IGNORANT WE ARE
