President Banda is supposed to be on his way to Namibia for a State Visit.
When he left over the weekend, his spokesperson Dickson Jere announced that President Banda will ‘stop over’ in South Africa for ‘meetings’ before proceeding to Namibia.
But it has emerged that the president will only arrive in Namibia on Wednesday in the evening. It seems the Zambian ruler has decided to watch South Africa struggle against France Wednesday afternoon.
President Banda is accompanied by his wife Thandiwe Banda, three cabinet ministers and and a host of government officials.
On Wednesday evening when he arrives in Namibia, the President is expected to feast with Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba at State House.
On Thursday, president Banda is expected to visit the Neudam Agricultural College outside Windhoek and Walvis Bay. Other places which he will visit include the Zambia Dry Port, Commercial Harbour, Namport, Etosha Fishing company and the Walvis Bay Salt Works and Chemicals.
President Banda is expected to travel back to Zambia on Friday.
