President Rupiah Banda will on Saturday 9th April, 2011 travel to Chipata, Eastern province.
President Banda has been frequenting Eastern province almost on a monthly basis.
Of late president Banda has reduced on international trips due to huge public condemnation that he has been wasting money on foreign trips.
Tomorrow, president Banda will be at St Annes Catholic Parish to attend a consecration mass for Benjamin Phiri who will be ordained Auxiliary Bishop for Chipata Diocese.
Pope Benedict XVI in January appointed Reverend Phiri new Auxiliary Bishop for the diocese which covers the entire Eastern Province.
On Sunday president Banda will officially open a Spar shop at Great East Shopping Mall.
Commenting ahead of his plan to open Spar shop in Chipata, president Banda said: “This is the eighth Spar outlet to open in Zambia. I am advised that Spar Chipata has created 100 new jobs for the people of Chipata and additionally will enhance the shopping experience of thousands of people in the district.”
“I am extremely pleased to see companies such as Spar taking advantage of the favourable economic conditions that have been created as a result of the policies of my Government. We have not stopped at providing favourable policies; we have in place the Private Sector Development Programme (PSD) which is making it easier for people to go into business without cumbersome and unwarranted bureaucracy.”
On Sunday afternoon, President Banda will address a public rally at Mugubudu area in Chipangali constituency.
