President Rupiah Banda tomorrow scheduled to leave for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the14th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.
President Banda’ spokespersn Dickson Jere has confirmed that The President will attend the Sessions of the AU Assembly whose theme is “Information and Communication Technologies in Africa: Challenges and Prospects for Development”.
“He will also brief the summit on the security situation in the Great Lakes region in his capacity as chairperson of the International Conference on the Great Lakes region (ICGLR)’, said Jere.
President Banda’s delegation to Addis Ababa includes Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande, Minister of Communications and Transport Geoffrey Lungwangwa and other Senior Government officials who are already in Addis Ababa for the pre-summit meetings.
Jere said an email to the Watchdog that the ‘President will return to Zambia immediately after the summit via South Africa where he will stopover for his routine medical check-ups before arriving in Zambia.’
