President Banda leaves for Malawi

-President Rupiah Banda this morning left for Malawi for consultative talks with his counterpartProfessor Bingu Wa Mutharika.

The Plane carrying the Head of State left Lusaka International Airport at about 06:38 hours.

ZANIS reports that President Banda is accompanied to Malawi by First Lady, Thandiwe Banda and other senior Government officials.

Whilst in Malawi , President Banda is also expected to join Professor Bingu Mutharika at the inauguration of the Mpumulo Wa Mausoleum, the resting place of the Malawian President’s late Wife, Madam Ethel Mutharika who died in 2007 at Ndata Estate inThyolo District.

He was seen off by Vice President George Kunda, Home Affairs Minister Mkondo Lungu, Defence Chiefs, Cabinet Ministers and other Senior Government officials.

President Banda is expected to return to Lusaka soon after concluding his scheduled business.
