President Rupiah Banda will tomorrow, Wednesday travel to Kalulushi to officiate at a ceremony to mark the beginning of constructing a mine owned by another group of Chinese businessmen.
President Banda will stop over in Kitwe to commission an Urban Roads Rehabilitation Programme which government claims will cost about K1 trillion.
The new Ichimpe Mine is owned by Zhonghui Mining Group of China is Kalulushi and will cost about $690 million.
President expressed happiness at the new Chinese mine and said, “I am glad to note that Chinese investment in Zambia continues to grow particularly in the mining industry,”
He added that he is aware that Zhonghui is present in North-Western Province, undertaking large-scale exploration for minerals.
