President Lungu’s health deteriorates again

11053082_997651836952233_8369325882602171093_nPresident Edgar Lungu’s low blood pressure has again reached dangerous levels and he has not been in good health condition lately, according to close State Houses.

Last week, he again temporarily seized during the state banquet in honour of Malawian president Peter Mutharika and was briefly withdrawn from the function and taken to a holding room to recover during the proceedings.

During the Chitimukulu installation in Malole, Lungu’s programme was to also attend the kusefya pangwena ceremony the following and also wanted to visit other parts of Northern Province but came back leaving Inonge Wina to officiate at the occasion.

Later Lungu was also scheduled for two days visit and campaigns in Luapula’s Bangweulu constituency bye elections but failed due to some health complications and ended up addressing one rally.

Tomorrow, Lungu had promised Chief Macha of Southern Province in Choma to officiate at the launch of the strategic plan for the Macha Chiefdom but so far information reaching indicates he may not make it as earlier arranged and agreed unless things change at short notice.

Lungu is currently facing massive economic challenges and has had a health complication that led him collapse and be hospitalised in South Africa not long ago.

Insiders say his body temperature has also been very erratic where he sometimes feels very hot and starts sweating and later feels very cold again and needing heavy clothes to wear.

Lungu is a confirmed diabetic patient but he has been stressing himself with huge travels home and abroad to make allowances against the advice of his medical team.

He’s scheduled to travel to Botswana for another state visit then proceed to India for the African Indian summit of Heads of States in September or October.
