The High Court has adjourned to November 28 the case in which Justice Minister Edgar Lungu wants Guy Scott to surrender the presidency to him.
On that date, lawyers will open arguments and then a date for ruling will be set maybe after the by-election.
Lungu and Newton Nguni have dragged Scott arguing that he usurped power from him.
Newton Nguni the main petitioner is seeking a judicial review of cabinet decision to transfer power from Lungu to Scott. The case is likely to be thrown out because newton Nguni is not a cabinet minister and therefore has no interest in the matter.
Meanwhile, Lungu has announced that there will be a PF central committee meeting on Monday at State House after a cabinet meeting.
This was after acting president Guy Scott announced that that the PF central committee will take place but that the only agenda would be to consider logistical and practicalities of holding a convention.
