Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has sent her congratulations to the people of Zambia through President Michael Sata on the celebration of Zambia’s Independence Day.
Her Majesty said;
“It gives me great pleasure to send Your Excellency my congratulations on the celebration of your National Day, together with my best wishes for the happiness and prosperity of the Government and people of Zambia in the coming year.”
In delivering this message, the British High Commissioner, James Thornton, added:
“I naturally take this opportunity to extend my own congratulations to the President and to the people of Zambia. I look forward to attending the wreath-laying ceremony at the Freedom Statue in Lusaka tomorrow.”
