Quote of the day

Am rising the bar of preparation of the UNWTO towards concluding on all standing issues by 14th May, 2013 before the Executive meeting of the UNWTO report back later this month and am starting with Street Vending in Livingstone town.

Sylvia T. Masebo (PF regime minister of Tourism)

We ask ourselves, so this is just another emotional but temporary measure? After UNWTO, the vendors will be back?

This is what happens when you sink low. Sil, you should have started by saying the government policy on street vending has changed. The minister responsible should have been the initiator. By the way is Mike aware?

Cosmetic measures for the city to look good to UNWTO delegates. What about the Zambians who will remain in Livingstone after the UNWTO, do they not need some cleanliness as well?

This emotional minister, she speaks with hands, head, waist and hole body to an extent that you start watching her instead of listening to what she wants to say.It is too much gesturing in her speeches.

Partisan politics aside. The intention to clean up livingstone is correct but should be long term and not just for UNWTO ceremonial purposes only. Anti-street vending should be country wide. Tourism is not restricted to “musi-o-tunya” only. IT’S AN OPPORTUNITY TO RE-NAME LIVINGSTONE “MUSI-O-TUNYA” WHEN GLOBAL EYE WILL BE FOCUSED THERE. Am sure our zimbabwean counterparts will agree to a local name too.

UPND is a non entity. PF is about to capture the whole Southern Province now that the cattle herders have seen the focussed leadership His Almighty Excellency MCS is offering. No more regional tribal politics. Kudos

Is it not the same Sylvia who promised to protect the vendors during the Livingstone bye elections campaigns. this is very good for marketeers,so that they can learn a bitter leson.
