THE Rainbow Party has adopted Daniel Mubanga as its candidate for next month’s Lubansenshi by-election in its first participation in parliamentary polls. And Mubanga has promised to put up a community radio station in the area if elected in next month’s by-elections. Announcing Mubanga’s adoption in Luwingu on Monday, party national mobilisation coordinator Robert Chikwelete, who is leading a campaign team composed of several senior Northern Province Rainbow officials, said despite it being an involving task, he was eager to see the party and Mubanga emerge victorious. “I like challenges like these and I always want to make sure that when I’m tasked to do something, I do it beyond the expectation of those who have given me that task. So, this is what my team and I want to see here in Lubansenshi Constituency – that the party and our candidate win the election,” said Chikwelete in a brief interview. Mubanga, a former Luwingu District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), said he is confident of victory because of the Rainbow’s support. “I am ready to represent the people to the best of my ability. I don’t intend to relocate to Lusaka. Lubansenshi has the potential to develop and it deserves better,” he said.
