RB accused of tribalism

Several workers at the Ministry of Education (MoE) have charged that President Rupiah Banda is tribal as he is employing tribe’s mates in most Government Institutions.
Speaking in an interview in Lusaka, the workers who sought anonymity said it is sad to note that a good number of the top management at the Ministry are from Eastern Province.
The workers charged that the president is choosing most of the Ministers and Permanent Secretaries (P.S) on tribal grounds as opposed to appointment on merit.
Employees alleged that that the current MoE minister Dora Siliya is also a tribal as she pushed for the removal of the former Education P.S Lillian Kapulu so that the president could appoint one from the Eastern Province.
The workers appealed to President Banda to look beyond tribe and appoint leaders who will develop the nation as tribalism has proved to be detrimental to national development.
