President Rupiah Banda has fired Chrispin Musosha as Deputy Minister of Education.
And president Banda has appointed Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament for Bahati Constituency Besa Chimbaka as new Provincial Minister for Luapula Province.
And President Banda has transferred Luapula Province Minister Boniface Kawimbe to the Ministry of Education to replace Musosha.
President Banda says he has fired Musosha to instil discipline in both Government and the ruling party.
The President said he has decided to relieve Musosha of his duties because of indiscipline and causing wrangles in Government and the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) in Luapula Province.
President Banda said discipline in his Government is very paramount and that all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Members of Parliament and party officials should at all cost adhere to good behaviour.
President Banda said it was his wish that power should be shared between Ministers, Deputy Ministers and ordinary party officials. He explained that those holding Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial positions should try and allow ordinary MMD members to aspire and hold senior party positions at various levels during the forthcoming provincial conferences.
The President said it does not make political sense for Ministers or Deputy Ministers who live in Lusaka to try and aspire to be in Provincial Executive Committees when they do not ordinarily reside in those areas. He said leadership in MMD should be localised so that people in provinces should be allowed to run the party.
