RB confident the fight against corruption can be won

RupiahBandaPresident Rupiah Banda says the fight against corruption can be won if the people appointed to serve in government commit themselves to eradicating the vice.

Mr. Banda pointed out that corruption has created so many problems for the country and that reports of corrupt activities in government have dented Zambia’s good image on the international scene.

President Banda was speaking at State House in Lusaka today when he sworn-in Godffrey Kayukwa as Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General.

Mr. Banda also swore in Abedinko Banda as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Addressing Mr. Kayukwa, Mr. Banda said he expected that with his vast experience he will work hard and ensure that corruption is clamped upon in the country.

Mr. Banda expressed confidence that Mr. Kayukwa will strengthen the crusade against corruption.

To Mr. Banda, President Banda said the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives faced many challenges which needed to be addressed with a sense of urgency.

He urged Mr. Banda to help government make Zambia a food basket of the region.
