RB Goes Neutral
In a dramatic turn of events, former President Rupiah Banda has refused to endorse PF but instead to be neutral ahead of the August polls.
Banda endorsed the candidature of President Edgar Lungu in 2015 and 2016 Presidential elections and even addressed the meetings for PF. But today in his national address, Banda opted to take a neutral position as most of his boys were kicked out of PF during adoptions.
“Losers must accept defeat,” he said in live address on his Facebook page.
RB boys such as former minister Vincent Mwale, Peter Daka, Moses Moyo, Bizwayo Nkunika, David Phiri and Lameck Mangani were all kicked out of the PF adoption process if Eastern Province.
In Lusaka, his righthand Dickson Jere was also removed at last minute in Matero constituency adoption while PF is backing independent JayJay Banda against Dora Siliya in Petauke which further worsened the rift with PF.
“He is not getting involved in this year’s elections. His people have been kicked out,” he said.
The lack of endorsement and support from RB in Eastern Province has dwindled the PF support and likekt to go opposition.
