RB: declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation continues

Zambia Presidential VotePresident Rupiah Banda has said Zambia will remain a Christian Nation because the country has continued to enjoy peace which should not be taken for granted.
President Banda said this in a speech read on his behalf by Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Reverend Ronnie Shikapwasha at the 18th Anniversary of the Declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation  in Lusaka today.

Mr Banda called on all Zambians to be responsible citizens who will be watchful and guard the land that God has given the people of this country.

Mr Banda has reiterated that Zambia will remain a Christian Nation by Declaration following the legacy of his predecessors the Second Republican president Dr Fredrick Chiluba and the late President Levy Mwanawasa.

He noted that his predecessors were committed to accessing the divine ability for the nation that they gave their allegiance to.

The president noted the need for the Christian Fraternity to openly explain the insights enshrined in the declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation.

And  speaking earlier Tabernacle of Testimony  Ministry  Reverend  Gibson  Nyirenda  noted that Zambia has continued to grow spiritually  adding that many Church  centers  have been created for spiritual guidance  in the nation.

Rev Nyirenda said Zambia remains a Christian nation adding that the declaration should be upheld.
