RB ‘dodges’ protesting journalists; leaves for SA

President Rupiah Banda will on Tuesday leave for South Africa where he is going to hold bilateral talks with his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma.
Zambian journalists are planning to amrch to state house on Friday to petition the president over violence against them.

According to a statement released by president banda’ spokesperson Dickson Jere, the two Heads of State will hold bilateral meetings in Pretoria and thereafter President Banda will also do his medical check-up and review while in South Africa.
Mr. Jere says President Banda will be accompanied by First Lady Thandiwe Banda and Government Officials.
He says The President and his delegation will return to Zambia immediately after completing the scheduled business.

But the Watchdog has been informed that the president will only return over the weekend.
