President Rupiah Banda will on Thursday leave for the Southern Province for a one-day working visit.
During his visit, the President will also open the MMD Southern Province conference in Monze.
President Banda kicked off the MMD provincial conferences with the Copperbelt before proceeding to Central, Western, North-Western, Eastern, Luapula and Northern provinces.
After the holding of nine provincial conferences, the MMD will hold a party’s National Convention that will set the tone for the tripartite elections to take place later in 2011.
President Banda will be accompanied to the Southern Province by MMD National Chairperson Michael Mabenga, , Minister of Works and Supply Mike Mulongoti, and Vernon Mwaanga.
