RB hopes to work with new British prime minister

President Rupiah Banda has sent a message of congratulations to the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron for having ascended to the position of Prime Minister.

President  Banda claimed that said Zambia and the United Kingdom have enjoyed many years of very cordial relations based on mutual trust and interest. He said he hopes the new Prime Minister will work with the Zambian Government to further strength the bonds of friendship and corporation during his tenure.

“It is in this regard that I desire to work closely with you at a personal, bilateral and multilateral level,” President Banda said in a letter to Cameron.

And President Banda has also congratulated Heinz Fischer, President of the of Austria, for having won the elections which took place last month. He said the reelection of President Fischer is an affirmation of the trust and confidence that the people of Austria have in his leadership.
