President Rupiah Banda is tomorrow expected in Choma to join mourners who will attend the burial of wife of Southern Province Minister Daniel Munkombwe.
This is according to a programme released to in Choma this afternoon by District Commissioner Laiven Apuleni.
Apuleni said President Banda is expected to arrive in Choma by helicopter at around 08.00 hours.
He said the President will be accompanied by first republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda, Parliamentary Chief Whip Vernon Mwaanga and other senior government officials.
State house spokesperson Dickson Jere disclosed that ‘the President will be accompanied to Southern Province town of Choma by Defence Minister Hon. Kalombo Mwansa, MP, Works and Supply Minister Hon. Mike Mulongoti, MP, Chief Whip Hon. Vernon Mwaanga, MP and other Government Officials’.
The late Mrs Munkombwe who died in Choma general hospital last Friday after an illness will be put to rest at Mr. Munkombwe’s farm, about 10 kilometres along the Choma-Masuku road.
Mr. Apuleni said traditional leaders from across the province are also expected to attend the burial of the late Mrs Munkombwe.
