President Rupiah Banda has expressed shock at the tragic death of more than seventy (70) people in two separate explosions which occurred in Uganda.
President Banda, in a letter of condolences to his Ugandan counterpart, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, said he learnt with profound sorrow the death of more than 70 people in the capital, Kampala following the bomb explosions, which left several others injured.
“On behalf of the Government, the people of Zambia and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency and the bereaved families on these tragic incidents,” President Banda said.
The President said Zambians sympathise with the people of Uganda over the tragedy and prayed that Gods will grant fortitude and solace to the bereaved families and the entire nation during the trying period.
“We also wish a quick recovery to the injured people,” President Banda said.
