PRESIDENT BANDA MAKES CHANGES TO GOVERNMENT

LUSAKA, September 28, 2010 – His Excellency, Mr. Rupiah Banda, President of the Republic of Zambia on Tuesday made changes to his Government and transferred three Cabinet Ministers and appointed a new Permanent Secretary.
The President has transferred Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Hon. Peter Daka, MP to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Vocational Training where he will take over from Hon. Brian Chituwo, MP, who has been moved to the Ministry of Local Government and Housing. Hon. Dr. Eurstarcio Kazonga, MP, who was until his transfer Minister of Local Government and Housing, has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
President Banda has also appointed Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner-General Chriticles Mwansa as new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Vocational Training. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Vocational Training Ms Sherry Thole has been transferred to the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services where she will take over from Ambassador Tiens Kapoma.
The President said he will redeploy Ambassador Kapoma to another position within the public service.
All transfers and appointments are with immediate effect.
