Outgoing President Edgar Lungu is now under pressure from former President Rupiah Banda to consider adopting Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe as the running mate and discard current Vice-President Inonge Wina who they say has no value.

And Rupiah Banda has again chucked out Emmanuel Mwamba as a contender for Matero Constituency to page way for his (RB) Press Aide Dickson Jere.

On the intervention on RB, Lusaka Central Constituency has Margaret Mwanakatwe as unopposed within PF while Mulenga Sata who wanted the same seat has been pushed to the ceremonial position of Lusaka Mayor with Guy Scott already ditched.

Lungu yesterday met with Chileshe Kapwepwe’s mother Salome Kapwepwe who is widow to late politician Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe.

Chileshe Kapwepwe is former CEO for National Airports Corporation but currently working for IMF in the USA.

Her sister Chilufya Kapwepwe was RB’s MMD candidate for Chinsali Constituency in 2011 but lost to the PF candidate Christopher Mulenga who is current Deputy Minister of Education.

Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe arrived in Zambia from her base in the USA over the weekend is is currently consulting widely on Lungu’s offer that will see Inonge Wina completely dumped as well in preference to RB’s people who are likely to dominate the PF adoptions.

Sources say the directive to civil servants was primarily aimed at Emmanuel Mwamba who has since written PF Secretary General Davies Chama withdrawing his application and concentrate on diplomatic posting.
