RB retires Hakayobe, confirms Shonga

President Banda  on Friday made new appointments and transfers to his Government at senior Government Official Level.

The following are the appointments and transfers, which the President has made with immediate effect:

Appointed Abyudi James Shonga, current Solicitor-General, as new Attorney-General for the Republic of Zambia subject to Parliamentary Ratification. 

Shonga has been acting Attorney-General following the expiry of the contract of the Attorney-General Mumba Malila.Appointed Ambassador Lucy Mungoma, Zambia’s Ambassador to Italy as new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to replace Tiens Kapoma who has been transferred to the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services in the same capacity.

 For administrative convenience, the President has appointed Alfred Chunda to act as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until the return of Ambassador Mungoma to take up her appointment.

 Appointed Andrew Phiri as new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education to replace  Lillian Kapulu.  Phiri was until his appointment Director of Human Resources in the Ministry of Education. 

 Lillian Kapulu has been transferred from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources to replace Gladys Kristafor.

Gladys Kristafor has been transferred to Southern Province as Permanent Secretary to replace Darius Hakayobe. 

 Hakayobe has been retired in national interest.

Appointed Mr. Davison Mendamenda, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services as new Deputy Auditor-General responsible for administration in the Office of the Auditor-General. Mr. Mendamenda will replace Mr. P. Mulanga who has been deployed to Foreign Service.
