RB upset with Lungu for letting police arrest Muhabi

Former president Rupiah Banda this morning fumed to learn that Zambia Police service carried out the orders from president Edgar Lungu to arrest of Banda’s boy Muhabi Lungu at Woodlands police station. And a number of MMD cadres also vented their anger on Rupiah Banda whom they accused of having misled them to support the PF in the just ended elections when the regime was now humiliating their leaders. On learning of the detention of Muhabi, RB was very upset and was about to go to Woodlands police station when Edgar Lungu called him to assure him that he would intervene. Lungu later sent State House deputy minister Mulenga Sata and State House PS Kaizer Zulu to ensure Muhabi was released immediately. But most the MMD cadres who were insulting RB and the PF said even if Muhabi would be released the damage has already been done to their planned marriage of convenience between the two political parties. To start with, police led by Commissioner Charity Katanga, blocked the MMD indoor meeting for the party leaders that are being persecuted by the combination of PF and the faction led by Nevers Mumba that has so far benefited through appointments and other things.
