RB wins Mpezeni backing, heads North

Paramount chief Mpezeni has endorsed the candidature of MMD candidate Rupiah Banda.

Chief Mpezeni who attended the MMD rally addressed by President Banda Saturday afternoon in Chipata said he can not dump his son.

Mpezeni said he is the one who lobbied to late president Levy Mwanawasa to appoint president Banda as vice president.

He told the crowd that a cigar in the nose is better than the one in the hands before he waved the MMD symbol at the crowd.

Meanwhile, president Banda will Sunday August 14, 2011 leave Chipata for a rally in Mfuwe.

The President will thereafter proceed to Northern Province where he is scheduled to commission the new Kasama-Luwingu Road, new police staff houses in Kasama and the new Mbesuma Bridge.
