RB’s son Andrew harassed for supporting HH

Former President Rupiah Banda’s son Andrew was attacked and harassed by MMD cadres at a funeral on Sunday in Chipata for supporting UPND president Hakainde Hichilema.
Andrew said the cadres abused him for supporting a Tonga (HH) instead of supporting his father Rupiah Banda.
‘They abused me and asked why I have endorsed the candidacy of a Tonga (HH), it was wrong to abuse me or anybody based on tribe,’ Andrew complained.
Andrew said the cadres who abused him were not his father’s messengers and challenged them to encourage their own fathers to run for presidency.
He further accused the MMD of being a violent party with no respect for individuals’ democratic rights.
But MMD Provincial Secretary, a Mr. Samuel accused Andrew of campaigning for the UPND at the funeral and threatened to attack Andrew again should he continue to ‘mock’ the MMD.
